Egg-cellent Easter date ideas…

If ever there was a good time to go on a few dates, it has to be the Easter Bank Hols. easter
The weather looks fine so it’s time to forget about work, peel yourself off the sofa and head off to explore the capital, together…

The Easter hols run from Friday 18th April through to Monday 21st April and we’ve chocolate cherry-picked some of the best events for all to enjoy; festivals to Willy Wonka, chocolate sandwiches to narrow boats and all the fun of the circus, there’s something to suit every Tom, chick and bunny.

Saturday April 19:
Berwick Street’s Record Store Day, Berwick Street, W1;
Do you love records and music? Berwick Street is home to some of the best indie record shops in London and is famously portrayed on the album sleeve of Oasis’s “(What’s The Story) Morning Glory”. This mini-festival sees an outdoor main stage hosting lives acts, DJs, music quizzes and parties.

Until Tuesday April 22: Easter at Kew Gardens, Kew Rd, Richmond, TW9 3AB; willywonka
Big kids, listen in! Kew has taken inspiration from Roald Dahl’s tale Charlie & The Chocolate Factory for Easter fun, which include chocolate workshops, a traditional Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday 290th April, where you can collect tokens from around the gardens and go and see the Easter Bunny, or you can even make your own Willy Wonka-inspired treat in the Chocolate Room.

From Monday April 14: A Chocolate Adventure, Park Room, Grosvenor House, Park Lane, W1K 7TN;
Mast chocolatier Paul A. Young has created an exclusive chocolate-inspired afternoon tea for this exclusive hotel. It begins with a selection of classic finger sandwiches, paired with cucumber and Venezuelan chocolate sandwiches for a contemporary twist. This is followed up with freshly baked buttermilk scones and a sea-slated caramel spread. Mmm…

From Saturday 19 April to Monday 21 April: Hidden Depths’ Meet the Easter Bunny Boat Trip, Granary Square King’s Cross, London, N1C 4AA;
Embark at King’s Cross and take a trip along Regent’s Canal along a narrow boat that has been decorated especially for Easter. You can also decorate your own egg to mark the ‘date’ occasion. circus

Until Tuesday 22 April Zippos Circus, Shooters Hill Road, Lewisham, London, SE3 0UA;
Roll up, roll up! Zippos is spending Easter in Blackheath and will be presenting its new show, Unchained. You can expect aerial acts, Guinness World Record-holding strongman Hercules, acrobats juggling, clowns and contortionists.
