Located just one minute walk from Lancaster Gate tube station, the four-star hotel is close to both Oxford Street and Bond Street and has in incredible views over some of the capital’s most iconic landmarks. On the 18th floor, guests can see as far as Wembley Stadium and The Shard across London’s stunning skyline.
The bedrooms are lavishly decorated with rose petals and balloons, then shortly afterwards, a bottle of champagne is delivered, along with some melt-in-the-mouth strawberries. You can relax in the rooms, which have all the mod cons you would expect or head out to take in a show at the nearby West End, go to a gallery, do some shopping or simply stroll hand-in-hand at nearby Hyde Park.
Guests can customise the package with a romantic meal at one of the hotel’s restaurants, the contemporary Island Grill or Nipa Thai, widely renowned as one of London’s best Thai restaurants. Lovestruck can recommend Nipa Thai, where Head Chef Sanguan Parr has been working for 16 years. Hailing from the Southern region of Thailand, her dishes are prepared with chillies, limes and deliciously butter flavours and her menu also includes classics from the Northern region of the country. The signature dishes include Kao Krieb Pak Moh; steamed rice with sautéed chicken, shallots, roasted peanuts, served with lettuce, fresh chillies and coriander; Kaeng Massaman Kai/Kae, a rich Massaman curry of coconut milk, onions, peanuts and new potatoes; and Sanguan’s Phad Thai, friend rice noodles with bean sprouts, spring onions, eggs and prawns.
After a sumptuous dinner, breakfast at the Island Grill is included (or get it sent direct to your room) and best of all is a lazy lie-in, with checkout not until 12noon. Right, where do I press snooze?
