Tea for two, Darjeeling? 5 top tea dates.

So, we know we’re always banging on about how great it is to go on a date and just have coffee? But what if you fancy a good old cuppa tea for a change? teacups

And while most of us know our PG Tips from our Yorkshire Gold, there are many venues offering up drinks for the tea connoisseurs among us.

With that in mind, we thought we’d look at the best teashops in London for a ‘terribly quaint date idea, darjeeling.’

Teasmith, 6 Lamb Street, London, E1;
Do you suffer from infusion confusion? This chic, stylish bar serves up masterclasses, events matching different teas and food and has a tasting menu of white, green, oolong, all paired with William Curley chocolates. Yum!

Amanzi, 24 New Cavendish Street, London, W1G;
Just off Marylebone High Street, Amanzi is a new boutique two-tier shop with shelves showcasing jars of tea. Boring it is not. Make sure you try the virgin Lychee Mar-Tea-Ni with gelatine bubbles.

Urban Tea Rooms, 19 Kingly Street, W1B;
A modern version of a traditional tearoom, Urban Tea Rooms focuses on sourcing all things British. It is great for breakfast or afternoon tea and there is always plenty of seating in the comfy basement. We recommended the Earl Grey and Peppermint teas, which are made on the Tregothnan estate in Cornwall.

Postcard Teas, 9 Dering Street, W1S;
This small teashop, located near Bond Street, serves up more than 50 varieties of tea from 35 producers, including the world’s rarest and most expensive tea, Mother Tree Da Hong Pao, made my Master Xu in China. Diners can sample fresh made brews, while the owner will give personal recommendations.

Blueberry Tea, 2-4 Paul Street, Shoreditch, EC2A;
This bar serves food, live, music and cocktails alongside a 22-strong tea menu, including afternoon party packages. The venue is funky and stylish with artwork adorning the walls, vintage furnishings and funky lighting. Be sure to order the organic blueberry burst tea.

Is tea your thing? Do you know a terribly good teabar for two?
Does the milk go in first or last?

Don’t: Slurp, sip.
Do: Raise little finger whilst doing so..
