Are you attracted to an older woman but are unsure about taking the next step? Dating an older woman is more common than you may think – and there are many celebs out there who have said “I do” to someone much older than them. Ashton Kutcher married Demi Moore who was sixteen years his senior, while Nick Cannon wed Mariah Carey, who was 11 years older than him and 50 Shades of Grey director Sam Taylor’s Johnson’s husband Aaron is 23 years younger than her.
The desire to date an older woman apparently features quite highly on some men’s wish lists. A recent study found that three quarters of men in Britain fantasise about dating an older woman, while 70 per cent of women aged over 35 say they fancy younger men. Here are some reasons why guys who date older women say they make great partners:
1. They know what they want: There is less indecision when it comes to dating an older woman. It’s likely that she knows what she wants and her own mind.
2. They are good conversationalists: Ever been on a date and the chat has run dry? This is unlikely to happen with someone who’s older, because they have more dating experience and plenty of anecdotes to keep you amused.
3. They have their own life: They will have their own established friendships, career and hobbies, so there will be no tension when it comes to doing stuff on your own.
4. They are likely to be career-focussed: As we get older, it is natural to get more into our careers and have found our true calling in life. If you date someone older it is likely that they will have arrived at this point already.
5. There will be less drama: Typically, dating someone older and more worldly-wise means you cut out any of the game playing, which happens at the start of some relationships. There will be none of the drama and catastrophes that seem to happen with younger girls.
6. They are better in bed: Sex is definitely something you can improve on over time and they will have ditched their insecurities and anxieties. They are likely to be willing to try new things and might be able to teach you a trick or two!
7. You can learn more from them: Having a passionate, interesting and intelligent woman by your side means you’ll see the world in a whole different light.
8. They are financially stable: Are you sick of always picking up the bill? It might sound a bit mercenary – or pragmatic depending on which way you look at it – but older women are likely to be more financially stable.
9. They have more sophisticated tastes: Going out and getting totally drunk is unlikely to feature of an older woman’s list. Plain and simple, older women do more grown-up, cultured things with their time.
10. They have more relationship experience: Older women have been through the first heartbreak, first betrayal and a host of other firsts, which means it is likely they will be able to handle any relationship problems with ease and help you navigate any issues together. This makes the chance of having a long-term romance much higher.
