Most romantic spots in Hong Kong

Sunset Peak

If you both love nature and love to go exploring, why not make a date out of hiking together? Hong Kong has a wealth of beautiful hiking trails for you to explore.

For a truly romantic hike, headover to Sunset Peak (not to be confused with Peak Tower) and watch a glorious sunset together. To get to the trail, take Lantau bus 11 from Tung Chung. Get off at Pak Kung Au.

Ha Pak Nai

If getting all hot and sweaty on a hike up Sunset Peak doesn’t float your boat, then why not head to a location that does (literally float your boat that is)?

Head over to picturesque Ha Pak Nai in the New Territories. Here you’ll find a shallow beach surrounded by mangroves, where you and your love can watch the sun set over the shimmering water, and wonder if anyone else is doing anything quite so romantic at that precise moment - probably not.

Bride’s Pool

Take a trip to one of Hong Kong’s most scenic waterfalls - Bride’s Pool. This picture perfect waterfall has provided the backdrop to many romantic proposals in it’s time, making it a truly beautiful spot.

Bride's Pool is a real oasis, secluded in the forest. Don’t let the haunting legend put you off though - the waterfall is magnificent and well worth the trip. Take the 275R or the 20R from Tai Po Market to Bride’s Pool.

Victoria Harbour

Sailing around Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour on a traditional Chinese wooden junk boat, watching the sun set behind Hong Kong’s impressive sweeping skyline is quite possibly one of the most romantic things to do in Hong Kong island.

Hop aboard a junk boat at dusk and witness the most majestic of sunsets, before being mesmerised by the city lights as they sparkle on the water.

Or how about a post-dinner cruise aboard a Late Cruise, and snuggle up under a blanket, enjoying the sights and sounds of the harbour with your loved one?

Most boat journeys set sail around 6pm every evening, so get onboard and enjoy a tour of the world famous Victoria Harbour as the sunlight dims, and the city glows with artificial light.

Tsim Sha Tsui

Take a leisurely walk along the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront promenade and take in the magical Symphony of Lights.

The promenade features a trail of Hong Kong stars' hand prints and sculptures, and in the evening there’s a dazzling sound and light performance involving 44 prominent buildings on Hong Kong’s skyline.

Take your date here before or after dinner and experience the world’s largest permanent light and sound show for yourselves.

Inspiration Lake

The name says it all - this Lantau park is the perfect romantic backdrop and the ideal place to escape the hordes of downtown Hong Kong.

Bring a picnic and enjoy it surrounded by lush greenery, take a leisurely stroll past the glittering lake, or simply soak up the ambience. Let love inspiration strike you in whatever form it comes.

To get there, take the MTR to Disneyland Station. Alight here and walk for about 15 minutes until you reach Inspiration Lake.

Lei Yue Mun coast lighthouse

Surprise your other half and take them to Lei Yue Mun and discover a slice of old Hong Kong that’s only a stone’s throw from modern Hong Kong.

Hop off at Yau Tong MTR station and take a 10 minute walk to find a green lighthouse that’s been in service for 50+ years.

Marvel at the surrounding beach and how it gives way to one of the most famous harbour's in the world. If you go at sunset you’ll witness a truly majestic sight.

Sai Kung Country Park

Take a trip to the New Territories, to Sai Kung Country Park, and discover one of the most romantic locations to visit in Hong Kong - Tap Mun (also known as grass island).

This beautifully quaint spot with lush greenery, rolling hills, cows and a low population of just 100, makes this spot the perfect beauty spot for couples seeking solitude.

Enjoy a hike, take a picnic, and soak up the panoramic views. Utterly life affirming.

Cheung Sha Beach

If you’re wondering if the beaches are open in HK, the answer is a resounding yes.

Take your date to Cheung Sha Beach and enjoy the crystal clear waters and sandy beaches of one of Hong Kong’s most beautiful beaches.

Far from the skyscrapers and with the peaks of Lantau Island providing the perfect backdrop, let the beach transport you to an exotic location for the full Hong Kong island experience - you could be in Thailand or the Philippines.

To get there, catch the ferry from Central Pier #6 heading to Mui Wo. Once there, hop aboard either the 1 or 2 bus heading to Cheung Sha.
